After a long day of school, Fay came home quite sad and told its mother that the work at school is very challenging, and often all the other students finish their work before it. Fay also said that even during recess it never manages to get a hold of the ball as the other students are too fast. Fay’s mother brought Fay in front of the mirror and told it that what she sees is the most Yafeh (beautiful) young boy. She pointed to its face, including its mouth and nose and said Fay, it’s not the outside that counts, how fast you run or when you finish your work, it’s what is on the inside that counts. Whether you’re a kind and caring person and achieve the best you can – that is what makes me so proud of you. After Fay’s mother left, Fay stayed back looking into the mirror and realised its mother was so right. It looked at its face and thought, how wonderful is Hashem, He created all us differently, with different qualities and I’m so lucky to be me! Fay then said a quick teFillah (Prayer) thanking Hashem for everything it has, including its Mom!
